Hadlee bowled brilliantly to Gooch here. It was Hadlee's penultimate Test, about one week before he turned 39, and he was still able to generate decent pace considering his age.

Van der Bijl did everything he could have done. The best bowler in South Africa during his time, and arguably the best during his one season in the county championship.
