Looks like this was in 2006 for Sachin, when he was considered past his best, kinda like Smith at the moment, though Sachin had more favourable batting conditions in the 2000’s. Sachin went on to have a resurgence later on and pushed his average up to 56.95 by the beginning of 2011 but it came crashing down by the time of his retirement in 2013. Will be interesting to see where Smith ultimately lands. Certainly remarkable similarity in top line numbers so far.

Murphy isn't going to do much bowling 94 km/h around the wicket. If he wasn bowlig the same pace but getting it into those footmarks he could be more dangerous.

Like we can talk about the shot selection etc but it's surely far easier for the bowler to adjust halfway through your action and shorten your length by three metres when you're straight up throwing the ball
