Younis is top 3 in Asia though and Miandad's overall WI record is mid
that's true, but I think Javed's away work is a little superior IE his runs against Hadlee too, both have Australia and England records which I can't really take seriously.

Imo, despite having a few moments, Younis is better in both of those places albeit slightly. Anyways, I actually rate Miandad higher just. No doubt his best work is in NZ v Hadlee.

Yeah that's certainly his best work, his England work is very wonky to me, don't really rate either very highly.

Miandad's hundred in Australia came on on a tougher track than Younis' ton there. Not much difference in England though Miandad scored a pair of twin fighting 50s in tough conditions v Botham&Willis. Think JM has an edge outside Asia.

He played significantly more matches in Australia and his record there is plain alright. Played against Lillee mostly but the rest of wasn't much better in his absence as well; and not like none from Pakistan scored anything. Younis averages a healthy 12 runs higher. Will take that comfortably. Not to mention, he does have the better ton, but he has 1 in 16 matches rather 6.

Miandad wasn't great outside the SC, but I think he was a bit better than Younis.

Younis' average in Australia receives a major boost from a Sydney deck that prompted Australia to play two spinners. While a big innings is creditable, I don't think it means he is better than Miandad in Australian conditions.

As I said, I think overall Younis has a clearly better record in Australia. Will take that personally. Javed himself wasn't some Great player of pace and his WI/Aus records are just decent. Not to mention, he arguably benefitted more from home conditions (especially things alongside the pitch) more than any other bat in history.

I don't think 6 tests&one ton on a slow pitch is enough to say Younis has a proven superiority in Australian conditions that's a noteworthy factor in this discussion. Yes it isn't ideal luck that he only played 6 tests but it is what it is. I never said Miandad has some intimidating case there. I said he has an edge outside the subcontinent. That hardly implies he's Vivian Richards v fast bowling.

As I said, I don't find Miandad's Australian and English records particularly inspiring and will take Younis'. But what I will take is his NZ record. His runs vs Hadlee is pure class. So I actually agree that he's better outside SC, just not necessarily in Australia.

Miandad isn't great in Australian or English conditions and had technical shortcomings himself. I disagree that Younis is better there though.

Definitely ahead but a tier higher is taking it too far imo.

Didn’t you vote that Dravid and Younis were close? Close should mean same tier imo.
I don't think always so. I rate Dravid alongside Ponting, Root, Waugh, Sangakkara and Kallis. Younis is a bit behind. Re closeness, if I don't loose much value on replacing one with the another in the long run, I will vote them to be close. Hence, I would probably vote Gavaskar and Dravid to be close, despite ranking Gavaskar in the Best after Don tier
