Azharuddin is probably more talented and far more pleasing on eyes to watch than Pujara. But Pujara's resilience and grit is worth its value.

You haven’t made an argument for Pujara either though which is my whole point. You posted the thread, you voted and so did a bunch of other people, there wasn’t much (if any) discussion. Then you said this deserves some discussion, but didn’t even bring up anything to discuss, like reasons you think Pujara is better or Azharuddin is worse…. so yeah.

Pujara by a small margin imo.

The Australian attack that Pujara had success against overseas was better than the England&New Zealand attacks that Azharuddin thrived against.

Azharuddin went ballistic in the famously batsman-friendly English summer of 1990 and struggled on the other two tours. Pujara managed an average of 40 on some absolute landmines on the 2018 England tour while Azharuddin never offered much serviceability in countries where pace&bounce is prominent.

Azharuddin edges it v spin, but Pujara himself was an elite player in Asian countries before his decline which was exasperated by some proper fast turners.
