SL have some good batters too. so if this pitch is flat, this will be a tame and lame draw.

Could start a debate of caught and bowleds though. I reckon it's a genuine skill for a spinner, though not sure how you'd safety practice it.
Just practice the motions, right? Go through a full bowling routine without a ball, set yourself and have the coach hit one back at you as you complete your action. So at least you've got the muscle memory to be in a good catching stance technically if the ball comes back at you

After Smith reached number 35 I looked at Root over the last 4 years when he has been amazing and he averages 56. Makes you realise just how ridiculous Smith was for so long to keep his average over 60. Weird stanced freak that he is.
Root figured out his conversion problems, It took 8 years but we got there, just need to figure out Australia next.
