Both are Among the greatest spinners.
Ashwin has better stats in Asia, Lyon has better stats in sena.

Two different class of bowlers. Favourable or unfavourable has very little to do with it.

It has some flaws, but another data point,

Ashwin spent majority of career above 800 rating points. Lyon did not spend any time above 800 rating points. That's jsut massive difference.

Lyon is playing in pace friendly pitches, so how can he gets more wickets? When pat, haze, starc takes majority of their wickets.

Shane Warne also had bad record in indian pitches, Similarly Lyon has bad record in sl.

Aswin and Lyon comparison is similar to warne and muralidharan comparison.

Lyon and Murali played in different era. Ashwin and Lyon have played against the same set of players. Lyon is expected to carry his team in Asia but that did not happen despite him having pretty much a guaranteed spot in XI no matter where game was played. Ashwin never had a guaranteed spot away when playing for Ind. He was in and out most of the times when playing away.

Yet his record is a good one. To put it in context,

All Asian bowlers with 125+ away wickets in Ind/Pak/SL/Aus/NZ/WI/Eng/SA

Only 6 bowlers have better avg than Ashwin.

Only 1 spinner, Murali is averaging lower and that too only by 1-1.5 runs.

Why are you looking at Warne's record in India when era was different. Ashwin and Lyon have played in the same era. You can compare directly.
