Cowdrey century or May 91??
Cowdrey's 102, makes sense, the bowling lineup reads like a joke, Lindwall/Miller/Johnson and then Archer, Benaud and Johnson...and the series was 1-1 after England barely won the last game via May's ATG inning and were completely obliterated in the first game, scoreline was 4-41 when Cowdrey started plus Cowdrey made 102 runs, the rest of England made 80 combined. Amazing knock.

Cowdrey is quite underrated. Not as good as May, Compton and Boycott, but definitely like Pietersen, Cook, Gooch and Gower.

definitely, would've the lost the 1955 Ashes without him, funny thing he was just debuting. first test, he played alright, second test he and May won England the game where Cowdrey did play the support role but we all know how important that can be, Third test is this 102 knock. Kinda crazy to think it was his third test and he was 22 at the time.

Imo, he broke his foot in 1969 and was never the same bat again, he played as England didn't have replacement but these innings made his numbers look worse than they were.
