They will admit it is Sidhu. He not only plays spin well, attacks them. With SRT you have a bit of control. But when Sidhu / Shewag / Azhar gets going it's one way traffic unless you produce that jaffa.

Clearly Saqlain. Mesmerised the Indian batsmen in the 90s. Sachin getting out to his ball on 136 and India going on to lose by 12 runs is still in front of my eyes.

And you will find Murali naming Lara. But in reality, if you have followed the innings it was Sidhu who demoralized the spinners.
I've already told you I have followed Sidhu's every single innings against these, I'm not the one to get carried away by a few slogs. But nah, some bloke living off cricinfo scorecards would know better about spin bowling than Warne and Murali, who cares about what they say.

The nostalgia over 90s players is bloody minded as hell sometimes.

The bowling was better because the batting was better.
The batting was better because the bowling was better.
The foruming was better because it consisted of sending a letter into ceefax and hoping they'd show it

Fun fact if you think Saqlian being as old as Ajmal is weird Graeme Swann played during 2000 odi before his test debut in 2012
His test debut was 2008 in India. He had a fleetingly short test career - only five years but still snagged 255 wickets in 60 tests.

He blotted his copy book in the South Africa ODI series in 2000 and Fletcher thought he didn't have the right attitude so overlooked him (he also claimed in his autobiography that Darren Gough floored him with a punch at a urinal on a night out). Despite a promising start to his career at Northamptonshire, when Wantage Road was very favourable to spin (Panesar emerged there a bit later), it took a few years after his move to Nottinghamshire to raise his game to a level that the selectors took notice again.

Knowing what we know about Swann now, this seems entirely plausible.

One of two cricketers (the other being Aggers) to block me on twitter!!

I was blocked by Vaughan, even though I never directly engaged with him. Turned out he'd decided to block people who followed people he'd blocked.

Almost a decade on and it seems like little has changed
