Grace.Hobbs : Outside of Don, he was the batsman who was most ahead of his peers
Why?meh I like Hutton more anyway
obviously not. His story is funner though, working through wartime injury, building a strong english team, reclaiming Ashes after 20 years etcWhy?
I do not think you were old enough to have watched him.
Hobbs is the best among these 4 and the rest of 3 are close but Sutcliffe is definitely last for me (10 year career)meh I like Hutton more anyway
That's alright. He also rates Sutcliffe>Hutton btw.@Coronis argue for Sutcliffe > Gavaskar
fwiw.. I have Sutcliffe, Hutton and Gavaskar all ranked consecutively amongst batsmen. I don’t think there’s much difference at all between them, and anyone who is picking any of the three isn’t losing or gaining much at all.@Coronis argue for Sutcliffe > Gavaskar
That's the longest "No" I've ever read.fwiw.. I have Sutcliffe, Hutton and Gavaskar all ranked consecutively amongst batsmen. I don’t think there’s much difference at all between them, and anyone who is picking any of the three isn’t losing or gaining much at all.
Hobbs is therefore obviously the difference maker for me in this poll.
tbh, I read it as “argues” and was responding to that. That's the longest "No" I've ever read.
Fair.tbh, I read it as “argues” and was responding to that.
wtf whereHobbs is regarded as the best of the 4 generally. Gavaskar > Hutton is a fairly common opinion outside of CW. So there's really not much of a contest.
