Anyway, Ashes XI would probably win against WI anywhere but in the Caribbean because in the WI even vs great bowling WI batsmen play at a different level. See the records of: Haynes, Lara, Ws (especially Walcott), Sobers, etc at home. Ditto to the bowling.
Comeon. West Indies at home are gonna be tough challenge for Australia. Easily the biggest challenge for ATG Australian Xi. But an Ashes Xi should beat them very handily.

How and why? Most of the Ashes eleven players like Smith, Barrington etc have never remotely faced a decent wi pace. And then bowlers like Warne and Lillee imo are a liability in the Caribbean. Lara and Waltcott in particular have all faced great pace/spin at home and spanked them generally. Look at Walcott did in back to back home series vs atg English and Australian bowling. Sobers at home was a cheat code. Ashes XI aren't handily winning in the WI.

The difference in talent will be too much for WI. I mean you have Australian ATG Xi to go with Hobbs, Hutton, Hammond, Barnes, Trueman, Knott etc.

Austalia’s ATG Xi is already ridiculously strong and would push WI to its limit and is capable of beating West Indies in West Indies by itself. Then you add the openers specially and other guys and it’s gonna be easy. Won’t be a thrashing or anything ofc but 3-1 my best guess.
