Richard Hadlee vs Gary Sobers

Sobers is just about the BestBesidesBradman.

Hadlee is a top 5 fast bowler, maybe top 3. That's not even including top spinners, who could complicate the ranking.

I think the numbers are Sobers favored here on a simple ranking comparison.

McGrath, Steyn, sometimes Ambrose or Imran. Then Murali, Warne among spinners. All are considered better than Hadlee by at least some.

For Sobers there is only Tendulkar as a viable "modernish" competitor. Otherwise the other one you have to go all the way back to Hobbs, which I and probably many others find a bit questionable. It's a much smaller listing of actual peer level modern bats.

May be because Hadley is from NZ , and no NZ players get any hype at all.
