Hazelwood v Gillespie is close but mostly agree. I want to put Starc last for the lolz tbh. Think Lee would've enjoyed the pink ball.
I do agree that Starc's stats flatter him a bit and Lee would die to bowl in this era, but I just have this, almost inherent memories, of Lee being tossed around. Think overall Starc is clear of him though.

Jeez that's even closer than I thought haha. Lee had on average way flatter conditions too.
Ehh if we're excluding the pink ball Tests, is that still true? The greentop era of Australian pitches has only been quite a recent phenomenon, through the first half of Starc's career the average red ball pitch was the flattest road you'd ever seen. Lee's era was also plenty roady, but it's not that big a difference I suspect.

That's just home pitches, I'm talking overall. There was a worldwide flattening of pitches in Lee's era, unlike most of Starc's.

So root who has batted in pink ball , should be above sachin?
You can't be above Sachin without even having tons in Australia man, I love Root and hold him above the 2000s fab 4 (Punter, Jack, Rahul and Sanga) but he's just not Sachin level, cope with it.
