Better ODI bowler?
For his battingGarner
saving this for when someone slanders Warne's ODI careerWasim gets remembered for his 2 wickets spell in 92 final, but his output is very ordinary in WC over all.
Wasim in WC against non-minnows: Avg 29 , ER 4.3 , SR 40

Imran Tahir very underrated , that economy of 4.48 when odi batting was on another level between 11-19 is mighty impressive.Wasim gets remembered for his 2 wickets spell in 92 final, but his output is very ordinary in WC over all

Lol. McGrath's team was filled with ATGs. Even without Mcgrath they were super strong.McGrath not just a great record but also helped his team win 3 World Cups , people will say he had a great team but he was a big reason why they were great. Also we've seen quality teams fail to get over the line in the past , I always felt Pakistan kind of underachieved in the 90's and early 2000's..One World Cup win does not reflect the talent they had, McGrath had that winning mentality.
McGrath is an ATG himself , he contributed to making Australia strongLol. McGrath's team was filled with ATGs. Even without Mcgrath they were super strong.
Mark Waugh, Bevan, Ponting, Lee, Warne, Mcgrath, Symonds, Gilly, Watson, Bracken, Hussey ...McGrath is an ATG himself , he contributed to making Australia strong
McGrath was extremely lucky as well to have arguably the greatest batting lineups ever assembled to play for his team. Both in ODIs and Tests. Mark Waugh, Steve Waugh, Adam Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting, Damien Martyn, Matthew Hayden, Michael Clarke, Michael Hussey. Just one ridiculously good player after the other. The scoreboard pressure was enough for most teams to be mentally shot before even attempting to compete.McGrath not just a great record but also helped his team win 3 World Cups , people will say he had a great team but he was a big reason why they were great. Pakistan had a ridiculous amount of talent in the 90's and early 2000's that couldn't gel together as a team , they gave rise to Ijaz Ahmed , Saeed Anwar , Mushtaq Ahmed , Saqlain Mushtaq, Razzaq , Afridi , Waqar , Shoaib Akthar, Mohammad Yousuf , Inzamam Ul Haq etc ..McGrath was extremely lucky as well to have arguably the greatest batting lineups ever assembled to play for his team. Lol, so you are agreeing with me?Pakistan had a ridiculous amount of talent in the 90's and early 2000's that couldn't gel together as a team , they gave rise to Ijaz Ahmed , Saeed Anwar , Mushtaq Ahmed , Saqlain Mushtaq, Razzaq , Afridi , Waqar , Shoaib Akthar, Mohammad Yousuf , Inzamam Ul Haq etc ..
Always scandals , poor discipline, big egos in the team so they are prime example that talent is not everything ..so McGrath was not lucky , the Aussies put cricket first above all and got what they deserved ..
(Great players).. no I don't think McGrath was lucky. You don't make 4 finals with 3 world cup wins with his performances by luck ..Lol, so you are agreeing with me?
I didn't know that Razzaq, Afridi, Saqlain, and Mushtaq were great batsmen :S
Errr, do you remember the 2003 world cup final? And the 2007 world cup final? Exactly the scoreboard pressure I am talking about. Also 1996 WC he wasn't that great which is understandable since he was very new to world cricket. You are trying to act as if McGrath was the sole reason they were making it to the finals and he was the most valuable player in the finals. He just wasn't.(Great players).. no I don't think McGrath was lucky. You don't make 4 finals with 3 world cup wins with his performances by luck ..
He was destroying batting line ups even at 37
