I would let Sangakkara keep shoehorn in Miandad in there. Also don't particularly rate Anwar that highly. Will take one of Sehwag, Merchant or Hanif. And Jadeja for Ashwin for variety
Can't sacrifice the bowling difference for variety. Ashwin and Muralitharan already have the variation to take the ball away from the RHB.

Think of the batting advantage as well. If Imran is batting at 7, would prefer to have Jadeja at 8. I think both are pretty equal as cricketers anyways.

Nope nor do I Ambrose in the 97 series in Pakistan. Ambrose played 4 series vs Pakistan 2 each home and away. 97 is the only series he averaged over 25. Something was different, the man wasn't remotely fit.

Just so we're clear, I already said it's a toss up between Imran, Ambrose, Lillee and Donald for the top 5 spot on my bowling list.
I misspoke. I missed Ambrose' debut series in 1988 at home. So 5 series: 3 home and 2 away. Just wanted to correct that.

If having more people would make someone better at sports, we would be at the top 2 of football, not 100
Pak/Ind/SL together have much more batsmen averaging 40 + over an appreciable amount of tests than WI. More spinners only pace is where they're comparable. Asia has more resources available to them than the WI.

I don't think that's a that good of a criteria. If we are doing squads, do squads for both. That's the only logical outcome

Don't just blindly go with stats!! You can't just bench Tendulkar for Yousuf. 90s WI and 2000s WI bowling difference is ****ing gigantic.

This Team can defeat West Indies in West Indies as South Asia XI has 3 Fast Bowlers and 2 Spinners.
