there are some legit criticisms to Sachin like his SA record, Pak record and 2000s record, and then there is this nonsense.
Like I get the early criticism for Sachin vs Donald, though mostly at home, like the first series he averages in low 30s as a teenager contained a century in a 3 match series when no one else did; but overall, he is top 3, if not the best ever in SA (will place only Virat ahead) and close to that vs them as well; mostly for his success against peak Steyn.
Pakistan criticism is worse...... He played two series, was literally 16 in the first (still had a match saving 50 with a broken nose) and averaged 45 in the 2nd. Also had his best innings vs them (136).

definitely a good record regardless, I just think he could've done better against McGrath and Donald, and his 2000s record is a little bloated and imo he was an inferior Batsmen to the beast he was in the 90s. You already know I hold Sachin in extremely high regard.

Didn't Praveen Amre and Kapil Dev both score Test centuries in that series? It was Amre's debut Test match century too if I recall.
If Tendulkar is credited for his accomplishments as a teenager (like his Test centuries in Perth & Sydney) then I don't think it is unfair to penalize him for his failures after that age.

He is saying Decline-Phase Smith is superior to Tendulkar so I'll only count post 2019 Ashes.
Blowing friendly era started in 2018 , but to suit your agenda, you are counting from 2020,
Even i don't care about the the most batting friendly highway series of 1997/98 indvs sl where 950+ score Was recorded.

this is mostly due to India and Pakistan laying out weird turners, Smith hasn't played in either

90s India was not high ways, it was spin friendly, the Indian batters like Sidhu, Sachin and Azharuddin just murdered spin so well that iirc India was not bested at home for a decade or so, @capt_Luffy can correct me as he knows more about Indian cricket.
Till 2018 aus pitches were not highways at all,
They were extremely spicy and seamer friendly, Smith, Warner and Clark murdered pace bowling so well that's why AUS Was undefeated till 2018 bgt at home,
Then rest is history..

Yes they did, though Tendulkar's century was the best. My point was I don't think a pretty great century in 3 quite low scoring matches is solid return.

He ofcourse had a downer between 2003-07 and struggled against Donald, especially at home. Don't think necessarily did below par vs McGrath though.
