Ponting's avg falls to 46? He was the best batsman of the 2000s decade. Whole methodology is deeply flawed. But thats to be expected when a troll is posting it here.

As a serious cricket fan like you, I would like to know why during 90s era,
Involving sachin tendulkar - opposition Bowers of NZ ,sl, eng Averaged -38+,50+?

As per my cricket knowledge, Smith played in highways against pak in 2022 so opposition bowlers averaged 50+ .

So isn't it clear that sachin faced way less though teams in 90s (played 48 against top 4)

Than smudge who is playing around 74 percent against nz,sa, eng, ind.

Can you help me to understand, ?

the 1990 England series was flat, but the 1996 series had a pretty spicy greentop for the first pitch and Sachin made a high level ton.

Going from a new serious fan to a serious fan like the rest of us in the space of 10 minutes is most impressive, sir.

Are you talking about Birmingham?

Yeah he scored when no one scored
But the one who took a fifer in that innings has an career bowling average of 39 and all other bowlers have career average 30+.

When santnar took fifer against India in recent series, all blamed indian batters ,

Current era batters are nothing, t20 effect and....but when sachin scored against farmers then all says the bowlers were all time great.

Dominick Cork averages 39? always thought he was a better bowler than that

ok, so that shows how spicy the pitch must be, no?
Or the other batter's were never performed in tough condition?

For comparison
In NZ 2002 tour sachin era batter's couldn't cross 100+ in 2/3 out of 4 innings,
And in 2020 NZ tour NZ provided similar spicy pitches with green garden but this time the modern Batters performed marginally better, even scored 250+ once,
But according to nostalgic uncles, modern batsman don't know batting in tough condition.

nah, that series was absurd, the RPI for it was less than 17, and even NZ wasn't scoring, Sachin and Dravid did score in first test but failed in second.

In recent aus vs Pak test series
Medium pacer jamal took 2nd most wickets at 20 AVG on his debut,
All pak great bowlers except Wasim and imran average 35+/40+ in Aus pitches.

So can you explain what does this mean?
Other bowlers Had no idea about how to ball in aus pitches or something else?

modern Australia is more bowling friendly since Australia has been since 1950s

2002 NZ rpi -13
2020 NZ series rpi-17

But in 2002 NZ series, bond was bowling in low 130s and other bowlers were bowling in 120s.
But in 2020 , NZ had way more potent attack .

Bond is a better bowler than anyone from NZ when fit, bar Hadlee.

Good old days when Smith had a career average over 60. He could end up with a sub 52 average now.

Most test with 60+ career average -
1- Sutcliffe -54
2- don Bradman -49
3- spd Smith -43

Most consecutive test with 55+ test AVG
1- Steve Smith -77*
2- Gary sobers -74
3- sachin tendulkar -65
4- ponting -56
It is quite funny when someone says Sachin was more consistent than Steve Smith.

Sachin got around 1700-1800 free runs at around 90 AVG against farmers,
In current era every team has a bowler with<28 bowling average.

Sobers averages 58, Smith 55. Sobers averaged 74 for 10 years, Smith for 5 years. Sobers was better outside of his peak. I don't see how we can view Sobers as anything but a strictly better, more destructive Smith.
