Look we all have fun taking the p1ss out of the bbl but this isn’t true. The fielding from the Sixers last night was incredible. The competition suffers (properly too) as it’s subservient to the test team. The difficulty in getting Indian players also means settling for players of less quality. But it also allows younger and peripheral players an opportunity. It’s a good comp that I enjoy watching and reading the banter on here. Overall is a good standard - or at least acceptable.
Incidentally, it was parody what I went on about the other day. I do think it can be a bit **** at times, but T20 is the equivalent of the claw game at a cheap restaurant - quite often you'll come up with thin air and disappointment no matter how much skill is involved.

The easy comeback is at least Australia's players want to play in their comp... ours actively avoid the NZ one. And often the on field numbers outweigh those past the boundary

BBL really knows how to drag it out. Instead of top 4 simply doing two semi-finals (1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3) and a Final they've gone with an extra game to come up with:

Qualifier (1 vs 2)
Knockout (3 vs 4)
Challenger (Qualifer loser vs Knockout winner)
Final (winners of Qualifier and Challenger)

That's the old final four system in rugby league and I think the idea of it was to give the minor premier a second chance if they lost the major semi final (qualifier).

This is a better system IMO. Much better reward for finishing top two

Still slightly miffed the Scorchers ran down the Gades' NRR. Taken away all the fun from tonight's game. Might jinx the Hurricanes by following them for the finals.

Stars may have an exceptional middle order but they make up for it by having the most uninspiring opening combo in Big Bash history. Harper and Rogers lol
