Here Bean's probably not even getting in the second xi and certainly won't be getting matches over more reliable operators like Bell, even though he has much better ingredients to eventually be a test class bowler.
Queenslander isn't he? Not that that would make it easier for him to get a Shield game

Embarrassingly inept batting from Wakim there. He was clearly going to miss that leg break and drag his foot from about the moment it left the bowler's hand

Have Hobart got a stack of blokes injured, because I’m not sure Wakim is the answer at three heading into the finals

Yeah but Bell's my go-to example of an ordinary trundler where I don't think he'd ever step up internationals regardless of his current figures. I did think of mentioning Steketee for a Queensland example - I think he has a more class then Bell, but again someone who I don't see putting it together.

There's limited spots to advance. Bean isn't fast, though his club claims he's been timed at 140. IMO he's got ingredients and with the right support I could see him becoming a better bowler than the current pool of RFMs clogging up the system. But now he's been noticed it would be tempting for him to try his hand in England where it's easier to get your foot in the door. In Queensland he's already competing against Straker, Vidler, Whitney, Guthrie, Sully and Floros for the 2nd XI and one Shield spot.

I'm not a fan of 'attributes' picks at international level, like England is doing. But at the lower level I think a guy who's obviously an outlier could be worth the investment. Hopes made an 'attributes' pick here, he's averaging 40 this season in grade. Yet while he didn't bowl that well (but wasn't terrible) tonight watching him I think he's got much more potential than the likes of Guthrie and Floros (as opposed to Vidler who's a real talent) and I'd hate to lose him until it's clear whether he'll be decent or crap.

Wow, it's like the Heat are trying to make up for all the catches they didn't drop earlier in the season to maintain their traditional rate.

One feels the Hurricanes will benefit from the inclusion of former Parramatta and future Test opener Tim Ward for the finals

By my reckoning, Sussex have used at least 3 keepers in T20's in the last couple of years, Alsop has not been one of them!
By contrast, Pierson is probably very unlucky not to have played for Australia at some point.

Kuhnemann dead set baseball pitching these faster ones
