He probably will get found out but that's four world class players before you mention Nathan Lyon who is as well and bowls magnificently to LHers. I reckon he'll have a solid career, he showed admirable game in NZ.

I think a lot of English posters said he may not play the Ashes anyway, given the incumbent wk is Jamie Smith and Pope may go back to 3
The issue with LYon is the pitches are becoming more and more seamer only, we saw the india series, spin had absolutely no part to play throughout the series. All 5 games was seamer friendly. This tactic whether planned or not, actually worked to Australias disadvantage in some respects- Bumrah was almost impossible to defeat and it took an injury to win the series.

Its also extremely important not to prepare flat pitches for the Ashes- England are the #1 team on flat pitches. Carse will be the main threat for the Aussies - Woakes and Atkinson cant see them being huge threats on Aussie pitches, so overall Aus is a bit ahead, if they dont prepare flat deck they can get out Brook and Root and co.

Pope said there was belief injury-prone speedsters Jofra Archer and Mark Wood would also be available to spearhead the attack next summer.

Jofra Archer will be something in his first Ashes down under...apparently fit- hes in the champions trophy for February. Not quite the same bowler as the previous ashes in 2019 though.

Just had a look at the BBL stats and find it hilarious that Fraser-McGurk has only 93 runs @ 10.33, SR 103.

I wonder what the Delhi Capitals think of that from their A$1.65 million investment 😀

I don’t know that Aus would be worried with either of them batting three tbh. Pope because he’s shown himself pretty middling over a decent sample size, and Bethell because he hasn’t proven himself yet.

But I think if they had to choose, Aus would prefer Pope there - he’s a known quantity and I imagine they believe they have his measure

Just realised that even though this is Harry Manenti's BBL debut, it's actually his 16th T20 because he's played 15 random T20Is for Italy.
