The 5 worst fast bowlers who average below 25

Hasn’t played in Pakistan
Bangladesh : 1 Test 0 wickets
India: Avg of 33 in 4 Tests
SriLanka : Avg of 33 in 3 Tests
Also averages 39 in SouthAfrica in 4 Tests
Enough evidence to suggest he is among the weakest of the pack who got 200+ wickets and average under 25. I checked, his average in Asia was 39. It is now 39 in SA.

Its not the best. tbf, he hasn’t had a proper shot in Asia in 8 years. (no I’m not counting the one test against Pakistan where only 4 wickets fell over the 2 Pakistani innings against him). He also had that excellent game in Bengalaru taking a 6’fer when other pacers could only manage 8 wickets the entire match. Unfortunately it looks like he’s going to miss the SL tour as well.
You have to be a top two pacer to have a proper shot in Asia because spinners will have major role to play.

Starc averages 28 in Test cricket but he is often picked above him which suggests Hazelwood is seen a more of a SENA conditions bowler. He had few injuries that didn’t helped him much either.

I think fair to say he is among the bottom rated fast bowlers who average under 25 with 200+ test wickets.

I agree, it's Hazelwood.

I never said he wasn’t. I said saying he deserves to average 26-27 is harsh. Hell he averages 27 away.

His overall average is 25 which is inflated due to playing a lot of games in conditions where his bowling works and playing very less games in conditions where his line and length channel bowling may not work.

That suggests to me that he is about +2 averaging higher than he should.

Think of Jadeja for example, he has played a lot in Asia and his career avg of 24 with bowl certainly flatters. He is nowhere as good a bowler as that average suggests.

What are your takes on Ashwin?

I think he is a more versatile bowler and has got more variety in his arsenal. He should have done better outside Asia so yeah his stats also flatter a bit. But I rate him due to the performances he has delivered in Australia in those two tours and his bowling in Edgabaston was quality, he was an excellent bowler and a genuine match winner.

I think he is probably better than Philander and Hazelwood but slightly below Anderson who had amazing longevity on his side.

Philander - 34
Hazlewood - 30
Statham - 29
Bedser - 27
Rabada - 22

Others are just better imo. Bedser and especially Rabada making the cut is straight ass.
You rate Bedser and Rabada pretty highly tho. Then why aren't you happy about them making the cut?
