English Domestic Season 2025

I'm surprised Mark Stoneman hasn't been picked up by somebody.
In his second last game for Middlesex made 115 v Derbyshire, they announced his release the day after this century.
I know he's 37, but he is still more than handy at the top of the order, unless of course he actually doesn't want to continue anywhere
Possibly could still do a job in the second division. Last time Middlesex were in the top flight he struggled mightily.

Do players who had a central conract like Robinson and Foakes have their counties pay their ECB salary for the first year?

Young Minto is a left arm seamer from Durham
Saw the clip on twitter on his debut. Had decent gas. Bowled a good bumper.

Thomas Rew has been an exchange student in SA at St Stithians last year. Assume he will be a key batsman with Vaughan.

Must say, squad representation wide spread. Quite rare. Just no Northants, Gloucs, Glamorgan, Sussex & Essex

James Vince has decided to play in the PSL rather than the county championship. Tom Kohler-Cadmore too, though he was a less certain starter. The first case of a player defying the ECB’s hard line against franchise leagues.

Don't blame him, he's never going to play test cricket, and he's nearly 34, so why not cash in?

Have the ECB issued NOCs?

If so the Championship has also lost a lot of quality overseas players who would have been available to play in England had the PSL not moved to coincide with the English season. For example Lancashire were taling to Daryl Mitchell to return.

Yeah on all leagues apart from the IPL. As ECB can't piss off their soon to be masters.

Don't think the NOC's extend to overseas players though. They need them to sell the Hundred.

I thought the ECB had said they would refuse to issue NOCs except for the IPL unless the player concerned had a white ball only contract with a county. TKC and Vince are about to test that. Presumably the players hope to renegotiate their county contract to white ball only or hope the ECB relent. Counties and supporters about to lose out, I would guess.

The point I was trying to make about overseas players was that the ECB were trying to maintain quality of their product - the championship but losing Vince and TKC to the PSL is nothing compared to maybe losing half a dozen Overseas players like Williamson, Mitchell, Hasan Ali etc. who would have been signed up by counties for April and May but now will be replaced by lesser players. Counties, the ECB and supporters to lose out yet again to franchise cricket. All due to PSL changing their window.

Get rid of them. No player is bigger than the county

Hampshire in trouble unless they make a bunch of signings.

Losing their top run scorer and their second top run scorer Dawson surely will be chasing T20 coin and could fall foul of the same NOC.

They've also currently not got any overseas signed up for next season. So without 2/3 top wicket takers in Abbott and Abbas.

Would be a delicious irony in their first season owned by the IPL. That the NOC's placed against other leagues by the ECB, while not on the IPL. Could impact their red ball season massively

But at the same time they will probably chuck a boat load of money at it.

Shame that wanker Bransgrove that stuck the boot in on Durham sold up, would love for Hampshire to have failed with him still in charge.
