By saying it wasn't luck is that one team has always prioritized slip catching and ensured that their teams were well equipped. The other two this day never have. That's what I mean by saying it wasn't luck.
You've literally said in the past Wasim doesn't really deserve any sympathy for the drops off his bowling because you didn't think he lobbied/influenced enough for there to be a change in Pakistan's fielding standards. () But were sure Ambrose would have if he'd been in that situation somehow .

Haha seriously?

I give Wasim leniency for having a poor cordon but I take points off for him being a bit of a tail bully. I think that mostly evens out. Imran had poor support as well though and it isn't brought up that much.

From most reports I don't think the cordon in the 80s pakistan team was as horrible as it's been since then somehow. Could be wrong though.

Anyway
...

Because every other team had the sense to prioritize giving their bowlers the required support.
For example, sure Ambrose wasn't going to sit back and say nothing if they thought of dropping Hooper, just saying.
Are u intentionally being slow. You lobby, use influence, there someone out there who quite not the same batsman, can offer some level of improvement.

Even in the last series they kept the same dude there dispute losing them the game.

He played almost 20 years including a decent chunk as captain, yes there's more that could have been done, something...

Let's also not the forget the gem of him benching Sobers in his XI for Chris Martin.

Steyn over Wasim without hesitation.

Wasim was 4th best pacers of his generation.

Steyn was simply a stand out pacer of his generation.

1. Was Akram unlucky to play in a generation with many all time great bowlers?

2. Was Wasim Akram lucky to be play in an era when fast bowling was much easier?

3. Was Steyn really that damn good or did his legacy benefit from there being no great bowlers during his prime(2007-2015)?

Not according to ex-cricketers of that generation.

Brian Lara:
.

Mark Taylor, Michael Slater & Glenn McGrath:

Now of course, this is a very small sample size from former players and their opinions but clearly Wasim Akram was very highly rated by his peers/opposition players.
