Being too good and a bit arrogant helps one to be hated by teammates imo.Barnes and Bradman - both disliked by their teammates - coincidence?!

Runs in Australian domestic cricket had become devalued by the time Bradman started registering big scores. Ponsford averaged 102 for Victoria during the 1920s. In the last two Ashes series of the decade he scored 50 runs at an average of 10, and had struggled a bit on wet English pitches in 1926. Some felt Bradman, even more of an on-side player than Ponsford, would have similar problems. Until the 452* Bradman was not certain of a place in the 1930 tour party.iirc before Bradman obviously demolished 1930 and Jackson’s health issues worsened it was by far the prevailing opinion. @peterhrt may be able to shed further light on that.
Ah I always wonder with guys like Jackson and Duleep (and others whom I’m probably forgetting) if they could have been able to fufil their promise with more modern medicine. Sad stuff to always think about in all sports tbh.Runs in Australian domestic cricket had become devalued by the time Bradman started registering big scores. Archie Jackson was a classical stylist with shots all round the wicket. In 1929 it was thought that he and Duleepsinhji (another with health issues) would be Hammond's main rivals for the title of world's leading batsman.
This....nobody who saw both thought Walsh was better
It's actually a thing that matters.
Richard Pearse did it on 31 March 1903 (before the newspaper and the Wright bros)This one has always been my favorite.
