3rd Test
2nd innings was most probably
Haha that's slogging due to declaration downhill skiing, not the same as running out of partners when you're trying to build a score like Kohli at Edgbaston or Dravid in his three tons.

Kohli's ton there was with India almost 300 ahead already I think. Pretty pointless, though his first innings there was excellent.

Tougher pitches yes, don't think the attack was tougher. Bresnan was a terrific support pacer and obviously Swann added an extra dimension, that English attack was very good. Particularly considering what a demon Broad was in that series.
Anderson was in peak form in 2018.
Kohli scored 24.22% of the team's runs comparing to Dravid who scored 22.55% of team's runs.
Plus it was a low scoring series as well.
(avg runs per wkt in Dravid's series-38.21)
(avg runs per wkt in Kohli's series-27.80)

This is because India's bowlers in 2011 were so garbage they couldn't get any wickets.

Agree that the pitches in 2018 were more bowler friendly though. The fact that Kohli was ~250 runs ahead of the second best batsman is incredible.
Englands attack in 2011 was just after they had wrecked Aus in the Ashes. Even Bresnan looked worldclass then.

This is because the pitches provided for 2018 series were very difficult for batting.
eh, Cook was beyond washed and playing his final series, Root was fading away due to the captaincy preassure, conditions were indeed tough but there's more to that two run deficit between #1 and #2 then just conditions, when Joss Buttler is the best batter from the English side, that is a huge problem.
