@t20tracker does a good job on the T20 leagues around the world.

Don't necessarily agree with his selections but it's a good visual.

Stokes, Bethell & Turner pulling at as internationals.

Burger & Williams injured.

Best XI not there
Grant Roelofsen/Tony de Zorzi, Meeka-eel Prince, Jono Bird, Matthew De Villiers, Sine Qeshile, Dian Forrester, Mihlali Mpongwana, Matthew Boast, Gideon Peters, Lutho Sipamla, Junaid Dawood

At least Wayne Parnell isn't captain anymore. He hasnt played cricket for ages so dont know how he was going to be the captain for banker in selection.

Not sure RR is much of a captaincy upgrade. Don't recall him captaining much.
Well travelled and experienced I guess. Not perfect but not sure many nailed on selections either. Not sure if all the internationals are there for the full season but I guess Neesham could step in.

Only one that they will lose at some stage currently is Livingstone. Rest either have nothing scheduled or in jacks case wasn't picked for the England squads.

Stubbs, Markram and Jansen have 3 days rest before the SA20 starts. Can't wait!

Having a quick scan through the English involvement this year. Bethell and Livingstone in the T20 squad which starts Jan 25th. Bethell is still in Aus at the mo anyway, is he going to SA before India?

Root in the ODI squad first match Feb 6th so will surely leave by end of Jan.

Of the English that are left, only Jacks has any kind of realistic International future, and he's just been dropped anyway.

Bethell was withdrawn by the ECB. Was replaced by dunith wellalage.

Presume they will replacements lined up for anyone else who needs to leave.

Yesterday was captain's get together, today the action begins.

I see Graeme Smith has come out criticising that UAE league because they don't enhance anything for local cricket. Just collecting foreign signings. He says that isn't the right idea behind these leagues and these types need to be watched/stopped.

I think this will leave JSK as the only team I haven’t seen live. I don’t know about the other grounds but in Durban the two players with the loudest reaction are always Keshav (duh) and Klaasen.

Young guns getting acquainted with world class performers is the best part about this for me. Might not be the best T20 batsmen ever but their all round class & professionalism & some new ideas is more important for me.

Dewan Marais & Lhuandre Pretorius with Joe Root

Honestly it’s things like this that make me like SA20. The Proteas have always been accused of having a weak mentality etc etc even if they are a very talented team, so hanging with guys like Williamson and Root is huge for the young guys.

I see it in someone like Stubbs. Jury is still out as to whether he will be a 40+ averaging Test batter but the guy doesn’t mind walking out at 4 in a WC T20 Final or fronting up to bat at 3 in Tests. We need more players with confidence like that.

Whilst we dont have a Kallis, Smith, Amla and AB its so big. Even playing against them and picking their brains afterwards. The best early on don't shy away, they want to learn.
