As a pure bat, Sanga is way ahead of Ponting. Things get muddled only when his keeping is added to the mix.

Yeah but we can't ignore his keeping phase since it coincided with his formative batting phase.

The issue is in what ever you put, he is a much greater cricketer than Ponting.

Then comes to Akram vs Donald who are pretty similar in their output in tests.
