Auction draft is back again and this time, it will be for the Champions Trophy. For those who didn't play it last time, below are the rules.
General guidelines
1. 8 squads of 15 makes it a total of 120 players in the database to pick from and hence, the draft can have a maximum of 10 participants only who will each be picking a squad of maximum 12 players.
2. Everyone will have $1000 at the start of the draft. I will put up one country squad each day and everyone can send me their bids for all 15 players or less (0-15) privately through pm. You win the player if your bid is the highest. If there are two equal highest bids, that player goes into the unpicked pool. Any unbid player will also go into the unpicked pool. Auction for unpicked pool will be held as the 9th round at the end of 8 rounds for the 8 country squads.
3. This draft will not have a voting and winner will be determined by the actual runs and wickets that their players get. The points will get auto-calculated live as each match goes on in a shared spreadsheet.
Auction guidelines
1. Each owner starts with $1000
2. Country squad will be put up for auction in each round one by one. You can pick 0-12 players from the squad not exceeding the purse you have
3. Your bid for that round will be rejected if total amount of your bids exceed the money that you have on hand
4. Highest bidder for a player gets the player. If two or more had done equal highest bids, then no one gets the player and the player goes to the unpicked players pool
5. After all squads have been auctioned, the unpicked players pool will be auctioned in 1-3 rounds depending on the number of players in the pool
6. One wicketkeeper is mandatory. Rest of the make-up of the side is up to you
7. You cannot bid anymore once your quota of 12 has been filled up even if you have money on hand. This is to ensure that all 10 owners get 12 players out of the possible 120 players
8. You will have a maximum of 24 hours to bid players in each round after I post the players for bidding
9. You cannot bid in decimals
The auction will start next Monday (January 13th) since all countries need to release their CT squads by January 12. Please let me know by then if you are in. Obviously, I will not be able to participate in this since I receive the bids. Book your names at the earliest for the draft if you are interested.
