tbh I think Bret would go to Japan somewhere in 99 or 2000, he respected Wrestling far too much and was vividly against the ***ualisation of female wrestlers which he termed a disgrace to professional wrestling, might return in 2006-2007 for one final run though

Bret in the ruthless aggression era would have been great. He could have had classics with Benoit, Eddie, Edge, Mysterio, Lesnar and most importantly Angle.

Eddie vs Bret, especially if done properly, would probably be the match of the century considering just how good both guys are at getting the crowd emotionally invested.

Whatever it takes!!!
WM14 would've been the climax of their feud with Austin finally beating Bret to win the title. Damn shame.
Didn't Bret decide to jump ship far earlier than that?

The What If I am always interested in, is what would have been the plans with Shawn had he not had that back injury that almost ended his career. I am wondering if the plans they went with for Triple H or The Rock would have been the ones that would have changed. Have not seen much reported on this part either, funnily enough.

Bret was my favorite simple because he made even the WWF entertainment-style wrestling more professional and technical whereas before him it was more cartoony.

The Best there is, the Best there was and the Best there ever will be.

Yeah, he felt like a real person in a very cartoony world, dare say his Face/hero character concept changed american wrestling with how they approached faces.

Triple H probably loses a bunch of his career if Shawn stays around, Rock will get big no matter what, far too charisma and if Bret stayed, then even moreso because Rock had full on backing from Bret.

He also didn't need to overdo his wrestling persona with over the top antics or ego. It wouldn't have worked anyways.

He let his wrestling do the talking.
