Sobers wasn't very good with 2 of his 3 types of deliveries. If we only talk about skills, Sachin was easily a (way) better off spinner and leg spinner.

Sobers' wrist spin was apparently really good. Don't think it's fair to say Sachin was better.

Sober was very capable Test class seam and wrist spin. Only was part time level in finger spin.

Which is ironic because he that's way he was originally picked to do, even moreso than score runs.

IIRC Underwood once made a list of 10 best SLA and Sobers made it at 9, ahead of Gifford at 10.

I recall when Ganguly just arrived on internetational scene there was lot of hype about him as an all rounder. Like many others though, his secondary skill didn't translate at the higher level.

Lol, I think he must have been self taught. He had no "leap" to maximize power in his delivery stride whatsoever. He wasn't a bad bowler, as part-timers go, though.
