Thinking back to that Sheffield Shield match a couple of years ago where Tassie were bowled out for 68 by Tremain aiming at big cracks right in line with the stumps.
Yeah that game has been more and more on my mind as the day has gone on

When a batsman's just swinging away, I tend to think that bowling nearly the exact ball they just hit for four is not a good idea.

So when there’s no spike as it goes past the glove it shouldn’t be out, and when there is a spike as it goes past the glove it also shouldn’t be out? Got it
Because the members stand libations have likely kicked in, I'll gently remind that no spike with a clear deflection is ok...but spike when it is not clear that spike coincides with the glove is not. Unless it was given out on field, then that's fine.

The ICC find new ways to **** things up - the latest being the woeful lack of technology and angles to aid decision making, coupled with Joel Wilson who gets decisions at less than the percentage of chance

Amount of time snicko picks up **** at baseline, plus apparently now showing things when you smash it, you cannot say 'relative certainty' here whether you think it was out or not.
Tbh I kind of think snicko is dodgy when it comes to gloved decisions to shots on the back foot in particular, when you’ve got a lot of extraneous noise with horizontal bat shots, feet dragging on the turf etc.

But it and Hot spot are the only sort of tech they have to work with

The spike did coincide with the glove though. Obviously so
There were spikes before and after that looked the same....and had like no correlation with the footage. Either way, not something to cry about but its weird. Is there a consistent guideline for interpreting this for the third umpires, or is it just YOLO?
