Can just imagine the speech Waugh gave Webster

"Yeah ah, congratulations I guess on um, making it this far. The baggy green is sort of cherished by some, but it really is a special moment in a young cricketers life. Just keep doing whatever ah that you do in the um the Shield. But yes yes congratulations Brendan Webster, baggy green 469"

I'd hand the thing back personally and ask if Brendan Julian was nearby.

If I was 20cm taller and could bat, I could have played for Australia.

I wouldn't swap my mediocre Northern Rivers representative career for anything though.
Yeah, if my dad was the home minister, I could have been the President of the ICC.

I envy your career - I didn't get back into playing until university after I moved to the US, and of course I sucked big time at batting, bowling and fielding - but I feel like I'm pretty good at most other things. But I'm only 40 years old, so there's still time....

Scoreboard says they’re all of one over behind, and that’s with two reviews on the first 90 minutes
Man's used to seeing Stokes mismanage his bowlers every time he steps on a cricket field.

Agree with Sunny that it's a brave decision to bat first. They've gotta eek out a competitive first innings total

I will blame your dad for his failure to achieve that every time the ICC makes a bad decision from now on.
I feel like I could make it a solid week in the role before I was unanimously voted out. First motion to ban all cricket that are not Tests.

You're right - wishing to be 20cm taller is impossible due to genetic restrictions.

How about "if I was 2cm shorter and 15-25kph faster I could have been Jyhe Richardson-esque".

I.e.: permanently broken.

I may have had articles like this written about me:

Websters bowling looks tight and economical. much better than Marshs limp offerings.

Gill is a huge improvement over Rohit. He could get a 50 or 100 here.

Starc looks average .past 3 tests looking ordinary, i think he is at the end of his career. He was never a truly great bowler- averaging nearly 28. Only the first two tests he has been good.
