Yaisval can't catch Root now in the year end batsman rankings.

Root finishes world number 1 batsman for the first time to join Smith,Williamson and Kohli.

Australian Sikhs be careful, Modi will be enraged.

Also Ricky had it totally right. Jaiswal was walking off, he knew. What the **** was he sooking about.

Its quite harsh, but it was a very dicey innings where he rode his luck and did try and go over after it more than he should especially when Pant left and t'was an ugly shot to get out.
He slashed at a few wide ones and missed but I wouldn't call the innings particularly jammy.

Taufel making the reasonable point that once the third ump saw the clear deflection there was actually no need to go to snicko and he should have just given it on the replay.

Jaiswal should also get a talking to re arguing with the umpires. Can tell Gavaskar is his hero

I don’t think it’s fair to overturn a decision basis subjective visual evidence, no?
Why? The umpire on field has to make a decision based on whether they saw the ball make contact and deviate. If the third umpire can see that on the replay, they don't need the extra tech.

Yeah, total brainfade and he had multiple ones throughout an innings in which he was trying to save the Test for his side. Won't be so lucky another day and will get nailed for being reckless.

Much has been made of Bumrah's 9 wickets and rightly so, but Cummins with 6 wickets and 90 runs is working hard to outshine him.

From the front angle it was clear that there is a deflection, but from the side angle it appeared as if it’s tricky to make out purely basis visual evidence

Cummins should be MOTM

Late partnerships in both innings, crucial knocks and timely wickets as usual

Most likeable Aussie bloke and captain
