Seems a lot less positive since last time this was asked?
If you look at the votes here, quite a few No votes are from new posters while most of the Yes voters are long timers in cw. So the voter base would have been a bit different in that poll.

It's not the level of his performance for me but that his record is so skewed towards playing at home. This disqualifies him from even being in consideration for ATG status- only 80 wickets, 2 5fers and one century outside India is too big an asterisk.

Great for sure, atg on similar level as Hadlee or Imran or Sobers? No. Looked at his stats and they aren't half bad, even away. His bowling away is especially influenced by his record in England where he played most of his away stats. Fix that and get his overall away record to a respectable level, then we can talk.

Even in Australia before this series, he literally only played on two grounds.
I don't think he's close to being an ATG, but I also have only 40 and rate all rounders differently from others.

My list of atg is probably even less. Here is mine by country and excluding current players:

Aus: Warne, McGrath, Lillee, Gilchrist, Chappell, Ponting, Bradman, O'Reilly. On the fence with Lindwall, Miller, Davidson, Border and Waugh.

Eng: Hutton, Hobbs, Sutcliffe, Hammond, Knott, Barrington, Trueman, Barnes. Fence: Laker, Verity, Botham.

WI: Headley, Viv, Lara, Sobers, Marshall, Ambrose. Fence Holding, Garner, Walcott, Weekes.

Ind: Sunil, Sachin. Fence Ashwin, Dravid, Dev.

Pak: Wasim, Imran. Fence Waqar, Javed.

NZ: Hadlee

SL: Murali. Fence Kumar

Rsa: Donald, Steyn, Kallis, Pollock. Fence Richards, Tayfield, S Pollock, Nourse, Faulkner.

That's 32 atg for sure for me.

What that tells is Jadeja is only rated high in CW and CW rating doesn't correlate with general consensus

Neither should be called ATGs if they can't hold their place in a team. Both are ATVG but only time will tell if they are regarded more highly.
Any allowance in this opinion for the fact it's 2 spinners competing for 1 spot sometimes? I feel that's a factor out of their control

I feel like allowance has been given. But particularly with the state of India’s middle order batting it should not have been impossible for one to be there based almost on his batting alone imo.
