I thought I was commenting on the last Sydney test. But maybe I haven't. I've been quite busy IRL. New job and family and all sorts of other stuff going on. But had to be here for this incredible innings.
I want to see you back in the politics section ASAP pls

Well played young man.

It's now up to some very experienced Australian batters to make sure they capitalise on the disruption and mayhem he's created.

Already feels a different game now the spinner is on.

Can see this wicket being rather difficult to bat on later in the game especially given the heat.

Whatever it takes!!!
What a start. Konstas showing the power of youth basically.

Two things stand out for me so far in today's play. Virat running into Konstas was absolutely shameful. Siraj mouthing off is one thing as many bowlers do that and he is pretty much known for that and as long as its not crossing personal abuse, its accepted at this level, even though I personally think it should not be. But Virat, at his experience, was just absolutely shocking. Surely will be docked some dough and a demerit point added to his record. But it shows how rattled they are by this onslaught by Konstas, so its a win for them already.

But the second, and more important thing, is how unimaginative Rohit's captaincy is. Rahul was lobbed twice by both batsmen and had he been at regular mid off or mid on both times, those would have been two wickets. And neither batsmen were looking to tap and run and as such, there was no need to have the mid-off and mid-on right next to the bowler. Also, once Konstas showed he wants to reverse scoop, I would have rather seen them send the square leg down to the fine third man and bowl with the 3 slips. Maybe move the 3rd slip out once the batsman has crossed 20 and is more confident but it just shows Rohit, as a captain, is easily rattled and it shows in the team. Just shocking that the two most experienced players in the side are the ones who have been rattled the most.

FWIW, I think it was a good and gutsy call by Rohit to drop Gill.

Its another thing that he deserves to be dropped before Gill but you get what you get.

And the fact that Siraj and Bumrah bowled 6 overs each given the fact that their workloads need to be managed AND they were rattled by Konstas also shows how bad this captaincy continues to be, by Rohit.

Can't say I enjoyed that start but your plan worked and the exuberance of youth on full display here. Well done young man.
