Which current players are/will be ATGs?

PaulLennon

U19 Vice-Captain
Will do well in india and sl from next tour. England is different english pitches since bazball are flat and 27 is good nz can improve
Bumrah average in nz is 32 so Cummins has done well. Think cummins will end as 3rd greatest Australian pacer after lille and mcgarth
Bumrah Cummins tiebreak is performance in each other's countries.

Cummins already has had 2 tours each of SL and Ind.

Aah ok. Fair enough. What you define as ATGs I consider "GOAT contenders" ie if you say that this person was the best of all time, you could make a credible argument for it.
I have between 35 and 40 ATGs, so way below the standard of GOAT contenders. I only have 8 of those.

Seriously, Bumrah, Cummins and Rabada will be ATG's, Bumrah and Cummins almost being one already.

Someone of Brook, Jaiswal, Kamindu would be a good shout. Can't think of any all rounders though.

This is a matter of definition. As I posted months ago, I feel to be a true ATG you have to be a valid contender/shortlisted for a place in an AT World XI or 2nd XI. Those guys are the T1 ATGs. T2 ATGs are those remarkable cricketers who may just miss out on the first category - but each will make/compete for an era XI/locked in country greats.

The number of certified T1 ATGs is miniscule:

To illustrate:

WI has: Sobers, Marshall, Viv, Lara, Headley who immediately come to mind. Ambrose is there abouts. As it is 4 of those guys make my AT world test XI.

Whatever it takes!!!
What are we judging ATGs as? Within the top 30 to 50 or so cricketers or all time? Then I'd say Smith, Jadeja and Bumrah from this generation. Root, Williamson, Cummins, Ashwin and Rabada possibly just below.
I actually would put Smith in the second group and might bump up Cummins to first group but yeah, that sounds fair.

It differs for each poster here.

I have 40, and only Smith is for sure in it. Bumrah is the most likely to break through though, Cummins possibly as well.

Jadeja really isn't in that category tbh.
