Because there is nobody in this forum who loves Trueman more than you.nobody on this forum loves Garner more than me but Trueman beats him out.

You don't see Barnes as a pacer, right?1. Malcolm Marshall
2. Glenn McGrath
3. Richard Hadlee
4. Curtly Ambrose
5. Dale Steyn
6. Imran Khan
7. Dennis Lillee/Fred Trueman
8. Dennis Lillee/Fred Trueman

for me.
I think he was someone who could move the ball early, bowl swingers and back breaks, and then revert to spinner when the ball gets old, a bit like Sobers tho obviously infinitely higher in quality. I've him ahead of Warne/Murali/O Reilly in bowlers ranking. You don't see Barnes as a pacer, right?
Understandable.
In ESPN profile he is classified as someone who bowled Right arm fast Medium and Right arm Medium. Wikipedia includes Right arm Leg spin.I think he was someone who could move the ball early, bowl swingers and back breaks, and then revert to spinner when the ball gets old, a bit like Sobers tho obviously infinitely higher in quality. I've him ahead of Warne/Murali/O Reilly in bowlers ranking.
with this logic Garner is higher than Imran and Steyn because they also have holes in their record while Garner doesn'tFred Trueman averaged 27 in Australia, 32 in WestIndies and untested in Asian pitches. The only place he was truly great was in England.
