One can only hope at least two of the batsmen retire. Or better yet - be dropped - as that would be a better message in support of a meritocracy. Indian cricket will be better for it.

Shubman Gill. The BCCI's carefully constructed "Prince" is a caricature, a symbol of misplaced ambition and manufactured hype. A player who consistently fails other than against minnows and comfortable conditions
Gill's batting and temparment is frustrating. His continued presence in the team is a testament to the BCCI's obsession with creating marketable stars, rather than selecting players based on merit and performance.
His record in SENA countries is abysmal, with an average hovering around 17 in the last four years. His failures, however, are conveniently hidden under the shadows of "seniors" Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, allowing him to escape genuine scrutiny.
The time for excuses is over. Gill is a liability to the team, occupying a crucial batting slot that could be better utilized by a player with genuine temperament, consistency, and a hunger to succeed.

Gill has been a justified selection for most series he’s played. Arguably could have been dropped after the SA tour (or if you’re harsh after his first England tour) but he came back ok iirc and was doing well this year until this tour.
His rope is definitely reaching its end now but imo once Rohit and Kohli go there will be room for him again.
In ODIs he’s actually good so don’t get the complaint there.

South Africa is almost qualified . India need to win a test against australia and Hope for Sri Lanka to win series against australia at home .

Nah, look I get the annoyance at the youngster trying to be different but as long as he plays how he plays and what got him here, that gives him the best chance of succeeding at this level. If he is not good enough yet, he can always go back, play 2 or 3 more seasons and play more A series and get himself back in again.

The intent memeing logic is dumb and the decision sucks, but in terms of actual impact it’s a low risk gamble imo, in the sense that the up and downsides are not really that far apart. It’s not like Konstas is a crap cricketer or Sweeney was blowing everyone away.
