Is Siraj with a batting average of 4.95 the worst #9 in Test history?
For once, he should really bat at #11 for all intents and purposes. Both Bumrah and Akash Deep are easily better batsmen and definitely more reliable (already Siraj proved his reliability).

The increasing fragility of Haze makes Marsh's spot even more dicey. The pressure on the remaining 3 bowlers is increased because you can't trust Marsh to take up the extra overs needed. You can only really carry a dubiously fit Marsh if the main 4 are all solid fitness wise.
He's not a like for like replacement for Green. At his peak Green was the closest there was all round wise to Kallis, since Kallis retired. Green was consistently moving the ball at 130kph plus. Batters get no break to score.

Marsh doesn't have the confidence of the captain to be bowled even. He's injury prone

Good knock. I'm shocked that a better batsman than most of the specialist batsmen we selected has made runs. Gambhir's brain should be studied by scientists to understand the decision to leave him out.

So much time left still. Going to be a pretty embarrassing loss considering how much time has been lost to rain. Not that most of the players in the XI are capable of feeling embarrassment tbf.
I mean who knows how much time left there actually is. There could be 120 overs left or 20 overs remaining given how unpredictable the weather has been.
