I get it with O'Rourke because he felt uncomfortable and probably felt one had his name on it.

A good knock from Bethell but he would be filthy at himself for getting out to Southee after surviving against O'Rourke.

It doesn't look like Stokes will bat with Atkinson being sent in which makes our job of bowling England out today easier.

Completely agree, and think the vice-captain at the other end could maybe have read it. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but I was chatting with my lad and saying I thought he needed to refocus.

Stevenson also called Kallis, Chanderpaul and Dravid "aggressive batsmen" a wee while ago.

Look, I understand being an outsider commentator, but then your job is to ask questions of the experts rather than just talk drivel the whole time.

For some reason I'm imagining him having *** with his Mrs and commentating for himself.

Absolutely agree. You got through that spell, refocus, runs will come. Bat time. There's more than enough places to score without that sort of nonsense. I thought that was awful. He has too many shots to even need to do that. How was Southee going to get wickets today? Only by going too hard at him. And his two were exactly that.

Shame for Bethell to get out like that- he’s got the compact game to be patient and turn it on when needed.

Test match 100s gone begging twice this series, but that said he’s given the selectors something to ponder.

A good debut series overall, if we can smooth out his edges and give him a bit of sense of worth he will be a good player i reckon.

Puts some pressure on Ollie Pope that’s for sure.

Second paragraph is exactly how he should be used, if anything. He was over talking Sir David Gower the other day. That's like my nine year old shoving Sir David Attenborough aside on a nature doco, given she went on a school zoo trip once.

The third paragraph will live rent free in my nightmares for months.

He has and it's all a bit of a muddle. Given how they've messed with the batting order they may as well go all in with their best batters as they see it and simply don't worry about the position. I mean, the openers are not supposed to play like openers anyway so why does it matter who opens?

Yeah but it was in reference to what he said about boudoir commentary.

Incidentally, he's now dating a well known sports person (Sumo not Hendrix)

Fox sports in aus have mark howard who like Stevenson didn’t play international cricket. However he doesn’t try and act like he knows what’s going on out there and has a far better knowledge of the rules , also helps that they have 3 people on at once so at least there’s still some expertise
