Really think GP is worth a bowl here with this drift against Pope.

Loads of runs on the board and a no win situation for the batsman so think it would be worth a few overs.

Unlike the match situation in Hagley.

O'Rourke hit 153km? Holy ****. Big tall guy hitting 150+ who uses his height and can control the areas he hits.

This is where it gets incredibly tricky on how much to keep bowling him as he's learning the trade, but also with his body in mind.

Absolutely love these situations where someone just comes outta nowhere and takes the scene by storm. Reminds me of KJ and darryl mitchell....weren't exactly touted on the domestics like some of the others but they have been unbelievable on the intl scene from ball 1.

On this forum I have always been hearing about fisher, nathan smith and especially sears. Even on the stuffs and heralds there has been the occassional sears article. Had never heard much about o'rourke but he's showed up and bowled better + lot quicker than the original 150km poster boy sears. Was described as someone with bounce, bowling a heavy ball and good enough pace (mid 130s').

Super fast bowling is cricket's most exciting element and O'rourke has given our test attack something we have never had the luxury of having on a regular basis. Brilliant stuff. What's even more satisfying is that he came back from the aus test series injury quickly, and has managed to get through a few test series now without breaking down. Promising signs.

I'll never understand that as long as I live. Youve never scored a test hundred, you have more than a day and a half to bat, you're facing the first ball of a spell from a guy whose so hittable if you just stay in your normal stance and play it...but you run at him and chip out.

Bizarre, ego driven stuff

O'Rourke's figures in this series are an absolute travesty and a perfect demonstration of why blind analysis by statistics is totally stupid.
He's all over every batsman, making them jump all over the show, goes past the outside edge, hits them in the body, has them French cutting past the stumps - then Southee comes in and gets a wicket to a wild hoick first ball.
