Michael Vaughan, a captain who won the 2005 Ashes with Murray Mints and consistently fielding with a deep point on the fence with an attack mysteriously reversing it after 15 overs, can’t believe Nitesh Reddy has a deep point in place

TBH it does looks like Konstas technical flaws are being reticified pretty quickly. I'm worried that Bumrah might eat him alive if he's picked now, but I think he could well be ready by the next Ashes (think we might go a lot more radical for Sri Lanka).

The other opener is o/c a problem though. Harris at least is a lefty (so might nullify Bumrah to some degree), but still isn't good enough for Test cricket long-term, and this is Hunt's first good season in a while. Bancroft's completely lost form, too.
The answer to the other opening spot is Tim Ward

That's really astonishing that, with Smith setting up like this and such an obvious LBW candidate, it's taken them 40 balls to get one on the pegs

Australia's top order partnerships this series:
1st wkt - 88 runs @ 22.00
2nd wkt - 88 runs @ 22.00

So 2-44 the norm

That was funny once but umpires should really start clamping down on this "bowlers randomly swapping the bails" nonsense; it slows the game down for no reason and there's really no justification for keeping it in the game as it's a naked attempt to distract the batsman.
