I enjoy these 'My Home Town' documentaries TVNZ has with some of the players. So far have seen the one with Glenn Phillips and Suzy Bates. Looks like Ravindra is featuring today in the Hutt. Phillips talks a bit about ADHD something I think Wagner said in his book he had. Apparently overrepresented amongt top athletes.

yeah the pace bowling scene looks good in domestics...some decent talent for nzc to nurture

who are our most promising young batters in there though?

This guy is turning me on. He's almost like a more accurate Morkel. A batsman's worst nightmare. Not many bowlers can threaten the batsman's edge and his health at the same time.

It’s infuriating that O’Rourke didn’t open the bowling with the new ball from the Tim Southee end. We are told how selfless Southee is, what a great team man Tim Southee is, yet he couldn’t take even a step back and allow O’Rourke to have the new ball.

That is some over from O'Rourke. By the end of the over Gower was recalling having the thumb on his glove removed by a snorter from Sylvester Clarke. Could almost bring in a silly mid-on for that type of bowling.

They have only picked 3 seamers so unfortunately England are going to have a lot of soft overs in this game when the soft one is bowling.

Southee usually needs the new ball to look threatening with his swing but even with the new ball today he didn't look threatening at all.

O'Rourke doesn't need the new ball as much to look threatening but it would no doubt help and he should get it after Southee departs.

If we don't get Brook in and have a chance to knock him over before Southee comes back on I think we are basically ****ed and this could be another Bazball exhibition.

This whole match is a farce whereby one persons ego has to be massaged for 5 days and to hell with doing what is most likely to win you the game.
And O’Rourke strikes.
