**Official** 2nd Test @Adelaide, 6th-10th December

Whatever it takes!!!
The whole thing of India losing their edge after going hard early in the innings under Rohit is on show here again. We are gonna drop our heads now, let them score 400 and find a way to get bowled out for 200 next innings. FFS.

Did they really go hard early though? I was actually surprised at how little they made the batsmen play. I think this one goes on the bowlers rather than the captain; they just haven't bowled the right lengths.

McSweeney just about sealed his spot for the next Test and probably the series.

Toughed it out early and played some good shots as innings has kicked on.

They've bowled so ****ing short. Been dreadful stuff for the most part.

Still think it's partly on the captain to get them to bowl fuller though. A pretty big score is probably on the cards here, probably would've happened last game too if not for Bumrah pulling an ATG spell out of his backside.

Yeah the runs for me don't really matter; the fact that he's gotten through (almost) the whole session with only one big hiccup is genuinely impressive.

As they just showed on the screen, Oz haven't got a single run through mid-on or mid-off. An inditement on the pace attack that.

McSweeney with 36* now has the highest score for an Aussie opener since Khawaja scored 75 vs WI in January

Siraj bowled too wide as well. No point in sending down hooping outswingers if the batsmen are just going to watch them go by. If he'd cut his fingers down the odd one too it would also have put more doubt in their minds.

Yeah McSweeney was happy to just watch the world pass him by whenever Siraj was on.

If his one over was any indication, Australia are going to have to find a way to disrupt Ashwin's firing the ball down the leg side.

Despite some sloppy fielding early that’s about as good a day as Aus could have hoped for after losing the toss. Fair play the two NO batsmen, wasn’t easy and neither had anything behind them in the series before putting together that partnership. Not huge numbers but massive in the context of the game. Advantage Aus day one. They’ll want to be still batting with an hour to go tomorrow night and keep their options open re sticking India back in under lights
