Brook has batted a lot better in this series so far than Root, he has had some luck but he's batted brilliantly in between the drops and the air swings.

I don't see any reason why he can't do the same in Australia next summer, he's getting better as a test batsman while Root is starting to decline now.
The reason is he doesn't get behind the line of the ball. Nathan Smith just bowled a ball at 128 kph into his ribs and he had no idea how to play it.

He is absolutely going to get found out.

That was quite a funny dismissal.

But we couldn't get him out any other way, so we'll take it.

That ended up being a pretty good session for us, it was looking ugly when Brook and Pope had England sailing past 200 with only 4 wickets down,

There's still some hope we can keep England to around 300 if we can wrap up their tail quickly and don't let them wag again with Atkinson and Carse.

I'm just grateful that Hendrix took Latham to task for keeping O'Rourke off while two overs into an O'Rourke spell.

Changed the game.

James Anderson still has more Test wickets than Tim Southee this year.
That's true and Southee has been extremely poor but Southee has competition from Matt Henry (averaging about 17 this year), O'Rourke (up with Seales and Jansen as the best young quick), plus Santner (13 wickets in his last test), Ajaz (11 in his last) and future great all-rounders Phillips & Smith.
