England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

Brook should go and buy a lottery ticket, it's been his lucky day.

Tomorrow could get ugly if we can't take some early wickets and keep dropping catches .

Latham absolutely pissed himself with fear the second he saw Stoakes wind up. It didn't actually come to him all that quick either. If Stoakes hits a similar chance from a text book cover drive I reckon he takes it easily.

Is there a good reliable page with up to date records on dropped chances? Even the last few years?
Don't think so. During the India series a graphic flashed up with the catching percentages for the different teams in the current WTC, and if I recall correctly NZ were 5th. I suspect we might have slid down a rank or two after today.

Baz and Key sighing a breath of relief
Pope and Stokes making useful contributions with the bat again. Otherwise they were becoming a burden on the team.

Great day as an English fan.

Bowling tactics were bizarre early on then Crawley looked all at sea. Bethel looks out of his depth on first view but hopefully that was nerves and we were in the soup at lunch.

Brook was magnificent bar about half an hour either side of tea when he lost the plot completely getting dropped and having about 10 play and misses.

Pope is having a good game. I have often criticised him but he kept well being thrown in as a part timer and batted brilliantly once he got past his usual 20 ball jitters at the start. Probably the best catch I have ever seen live got him out to deny him what looked like being a ton. Good to see Stokes dig in and play properly.

Our day by a long way but NZ will kick themselves, dropped some pretty easy catches and lost the momentum in the process. Long way back if we get a decent lead. New ball is vital.

I need to go sleep before a ball is bowled because on both days, England's match situation has been a lot better at stumps then when I turned the TV off.
