Decent effort by proper tail enders Snedden and Dudding to get Wellington to a mediocre total. And two more of those wonderful 9-down declarations.

EDIT: Looks like Clarkson must have picked up an injury.

In fairness the brief crack at the openers certainly worked out for Otago. Not entirely sure it's advisable, though, given how frequent annoying 10th-wicket partnerships are in the PS.

So Dudding is actually a genuinely good domestic FC cricketer now?

Major loss for nominitive determinism if so
Yeah he was crap for CD but he's been Wellington's best bowler this season IMO. Hey maybe he wasn't actually crap for CD – I wasn't really paying attention; I just assumed as much.

I can't say I saw a massive amount of him (was mainly relying on what I saw of his "highlights" back then on the NZC website, which really isn't a good way to judge cricketers) but he looked miles off FC standard, both slow and inaccurate. But from what I have seen he looks a fair bit better now, still not rapid but has better control and can get some good movememt back in to the RHB

Otago trolling here. Georgeson finally taken off, then Gibson replaced after one over by Cumming's sub-military mediums. Kristian Clarke meanwhile putting his teammates to shame with the bat.

****ing knock that. Hardly a terrible bowling lineup: it's Canterbury after all. Scarcely believable how well he was seeing it.
