The only question was Adelaide 2003 vs Perth 2024. I think strength of the Australian attack and the fact that the current team is much more inexperienced makes me rank this win higher.

This would require a lot of thinking and I’m going back and forth for a few of them. Brisbane 2021 is the only one that’s obvious and doesn’t require thinking given it is the single greatest Test win in Indian history, not just in Australia. Bowled out for 36 in first Test, captain Kohli goes home, and india so crushed by injuries and playing with their third eleven with net bowlers against Australia at a venue where they hadn’t lost for decades (since WI heyday), in order to chase down an improbable target on the last day to seal the second consecutive away series…..I didn’t believe it was actually gonna happen as I was watching it live, until I actually saw that last shot.

I was scared there was gonna be a collapse after Shardul cause the batting after that was crap (Saini, Nattu, Siraj - the last two are complete bunnies).

When Pant hit that four, I thought it was a single until I saw an Australian fielder get down on his knees.

I think all the others can be 2 depending on your logic, that's how good the wins are. Not a dead rubber amongst them.

I still feel this is the bigger win. Australian batting was super strong in 2003. But their bowling was not the greatest and our batting lineup was pretty stacked. We had also done pretty well in the first test. We did very well to come back in that test with that Dravid - Laxman partnership.

Here we were beaten 3-0 at home by freaking NZ and no Rohit/Gill/Shami. Our batting line up is a wish and a prayer and bowling is pretty much Bumrah or bust. It was pretty much expected that we were going to be beaten badly at Perth. Just a great win.

This was also due to not looking at context and people making dumb assumptions.

We lost to NZ due to a huge domino effect. First test due to the seaming conditions for first two sessions India got bundled out and lost the match. Panicking, BCCI prepared two dustbowls where India lost both tosses. And with an aging Ashwin, Jadeja (both in bowling and batting), Rohit India were not able to overcome that toss deficit like they used to earlier.

A lot of the weaknesses of that tour are covered up in Australia. Kohli, KL are no longer walking wickets (in between their Asian failures they have done well abroad whenever they played). Siraj becomes effective and had done better last time as well. Ashwin, Jadeja need not play.

So neither the batting or bowling are as bad as people were thinking after the NZ series. Yes, this lineup has not reached their peak with many young players but a lot of them are very promising players - 2 of whom have done well in Aus before (Gill/Pant) and 1 extremely talented youngster (Jaiswal) who also did well (this is hindsight ofc). It's not the 2018-19 line up but it's also not the 2011-12 lineup.

Also Australia themselves have been weak batting wise in these same conditions, huffing and puffing to beat Pak and NZ, their perennial whipping boys. They also lost to WI for the first time in nearly 30 years at home. And many of their players are now further along the age curve (compared to only Kohli/Rohit for India).
