It’s a good thing the next Test until December so I have a new monthly budget for my gambling.
I very happily busted my bankroll betting against what just happened this Test.

Have they lost the keys to the mower or something?

I think there have been external factors that have made pitch prep a bit harder over the last few years, though others disagree. But there really isn't anything stopping them from cutting the grass back a little more.
Yeah there's no reason the Day 1 pitch in Perth couldn't have looked more like the Day 2 pitch.

But tbh I like it overall even it's gone a bit overboard. Runs at home in Australia before this decade were a farce about 90% of the time.

My only viable path to prevent becoming that guy was to get good at it.
Haven't figured that part of it out. Except during my drunken delusional phase when I think I'm good at it.

Thankfully I have a deal with my wife where I have to ask her before I withdraw money for gambling, and she knows when to let me go and when to cut me off. That's the only time she wants to handle the finances - and it works well for both of us.

I didn’t really like tbh. Team batting second gets a huge advantage. India were just smart and strategically got out for 150. They’ve done it before with 36 and 46 but the bowlers failed to capitalise on good conditions.

Whatever it takes!!!
It’s not the test pitches

Australian batsmen have benefited from facing rubbish Kookaburras for years and their techniques are awful as a result

Smith, Khawaja, Marnus, Harris etc basically don’t have a forward defence because the ball made it possible to hang back as it did nothing

It’s no mystery as to why our teams consistently collapse in SA & England

Now the ball has changed in Australia, Smith & Uzi are old and Marnus has been exposed as a ftb

I actually think that McSweeney is better equipped to handle it than the others as he’s got solid fundamentals and isn’t totally reliant on his eye/talent
This is a good point. But then NZ use the same Kookaburra just as much and they have been doing better as your batters have been doing worse.

My mate the coach is a professional punter

He employs people, software algorithms etc etc and has made millions over the past 50 years

He gave Social jr a tip a few weeks ago and it paid off so jr asked him for another one

Does this mean the 00s and earlier sides are overrated in batting? Since they didn't get this secretly improved Kookaburra.

Absolutely true. I know myself and my personality and proclivities. I eat too much dessert so we don’t keep them in the house on a regular basis. I know I would go to far with gambling so I made a very strict monthly budget for myself that I can afford, and gave my wife full veto power over my gambling. Sucks in the moment when she says no but it’s always the right decision in hindsight.

Everything in moderation. Everyone needs some sort of guardrails. Without it, even if I went on a huge extended streak, eventually I’d lose it all.

Just wow. Cummins says he doesn't expect any changes to the XI for next Test

"The sole concern heading into the next Test might be all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, who Cummins conceded was "a little bit sore" after his bowling workload at Perth"

Marsh should just give up bowling as he pulls up sore everytime he bowls
What did you expect the captain to say?

He needs to back his own players in the public

This thread makes we want to watch casino after a few Monday night drinks. Highly underrated Scorsese movie. Every bit as good as Goodfellas.
