I know, I was just responding with an example to Gob who justified keeping Labuschagne just because he scored 90 four innings ago
Remember when Brad Hodge was dropped 2 tests after scoring 203* or when Stuart Law scored 54* in his only ever test innings?

Good times

That does not look great but who could improve it?

K Pat?
As much as I dislike Harris, I'd bring him in to open and move McSweeney to his normal number 3

Selectors won't do that of course as it looks like their failure picking a #3 bat to open just to move him to #3 next game

I know people like to discredit Marnus's good run saying he was beating up average teams at home with a lot of luck. Now there is some truth to it however you still need to be a pretty good batsman to score runs/hundreds the way he did

What I remember when he was scoring a lot of runs was that he left a lot of balls (he was a very good judge of the leave) and also scored runs at a pretty decent clip something he has forgotten of late. Maybe he should try to be more proactive

So what, Dean Jones made 100* in his 3rd last innings. Have you seen Labuschagne's last 10 innings:

3, 2, 6, 90, 2, 1, 5, 3, 1*, 10
The reality is where's nobody better so dropping Labuschagne would be pointless, and he did win Australia the world cup last year. Not to mention Labuschagne made 90 in crazy hard conditions against New Zealand!.

Labuschage was recently quoted as saying the key to beating India was to bat like Pujara and use up a lot of balls to tire out the bowlers. He tried it and failed, horrible 2 off 52 balls

So that one 90 keeps him in the team and all his other scores ignored? #3 bat is the most important batting spot in the team, so how can he stay after: 3, 2, 6, 90, 2, 1, 5, 3, 1*, 10

Smith might as well of stayed opening if Labuschagne is at 3

Labuschagne average is still miles better than players outside the team!. he's the best we got where's nobody better mate. my move would be to drop Labuschagne down to 4-5#. Yes That one 90 is Enough to keep Labuschagne in the team to at least end of the series most likely. 2, 6, 90, 2, 1, 5, 3, 1*, 10, was All on Extremely hard conditions any batsman would have struggled on these pitches. English swinging Conditions!, green Tops in new Zealand! Come on even Kohli been struggling hard up until this test.

^Yet you want drop Labuschagne so a worse player can come in great idea 💡 why didn't I think of this Harris is such a world beater.

Well he should obviously change that approach and look to be a bit more positive. That's how number 3s should bat
Pujara played defensively because he had operation on his both knees in 2011 which ment his foot movement got severely cripled against fast bowling eg feet don't move quickly and anyway if am not wrong aussie no3 do play positively like sir don Bradman greg chappell and ricky ponting

Those scores were in last 5 Tests, 3 in Australia vs West Indies and India and 2 in New Zealand. Hardly "Extremely hard conditions any batsman would have struggled on" or "English swinging conditions".

The day an Australian #3 is allowed to carry on playing after scoring 3, 2, 6, 90, 2, 1, 5, 3, 1*, 10 is a very sad day for Australian cricket

Can literally copy-pasta this to be about Steve Smith.

will it's sad day because Labuschagne isn't getting dropped as we don't have any depth currently. The 2 test was New Zealand was extremely hard conditions, the one test against West Indies had ATG individual bowling performance, India has future Goat bowler!. All hard situations, for Labuschagne any batsman including Smith or Root.

In fact Kohli recently form before the 💯 was something like 1, 70, 17, 1 3,4.

The batting standards worldwide has declined recently don't know why single out Labuschagne for then every else in Australia team is also struggling to.

Do you honestly think Harris can do any better we already seen he can't do anything against international bowlers of high quality. Sam Is good option but he's to young.
