Who would you pick? Hadlee or Marshall?
Marshall slightly ahead of Hadlee as a bowler
But Hadlee’s batting makes him an overall better pick

Hadlee more often, though Marshall could hold the bat quite well. I actually rate Hadlee almost equal of Marshall's as a bowler.

Marshall. The marginal value of the difference of their batting doesn't make up for Marshall being more allround destructive.

Conveying the value of mild second disciplines is hard too. Akram's batting and Bobby Simpson's bowling.
There's quite a bit of value in the extra batting from a bowler. I do find it hard to quantify exactly how much though. Not sure if I should be rating Akram above Mcgrath.

Simpson is even trickier. Most teams will have a part timer or two who can average 40 or 50. He's a level above that, but working out how much value he is likely to bring to a typical team is tough.

Lara and Steyn are incredibly close and at that level it comes down purely to preference.

One was a genius, the other relentless. I'll abstain for now.
